32 words that did not stay — and the thing you already know that each one hangs on. Built 2026-08-12, from a session where the rules scored 85–100% and the words scored 17%.

The measurement this page is built on. In one sitting: the plural routine ran at 89% on words that were securely known and 25% on words that were not. Grammar questions — the three plural steps, the â/î rule, negation, syllable counts — scored 85%. Vocabulary from two days earlier scored 17%.

The machine is built. The words are not staying in it.

① What this page is, and what it is not evidence for

Of sixteen words taught on 2026-08-10, three came back clean two days later — lampă, dormitor, and covor one vowel short. The rest were gone or scrambled.

The first version of this page said the survivors were "the three with an anchor". That is withdrawn — it was wrong. Checking the ledger afterwards showed that all sixteen already carried a hook, written by the session that taught them: podea carried підлога, canapea carried канапа, pernă carried перина, oglindă carried глядіти, cuțit carried cutlery, birou carried bureau. Hooks in languages you actually speak died at the same rate as Greek and Turkish etymologies.

And the test could not have measured anchoring anyway. Those words were taught on 08-10 and no session ran on 08-11 — they were met once and never reviewed before being tested. What that 3-of-16 measures is intake volume and review interval. Sixteen new words, one exposure, forty-eight hours.

So what is this page for? Not proof that anchors work — that is untested. It is the ledger's own hooks pulled out of a text column and turned into something you can drill: concealed, in both directions, with audio, one row at a time. This workspace has already measured, twice, that writing a word-level fact down does not install it and drilling it does (the false-friend set, 2026-08-05; these notes, today).

The hooks below are worth having on their own terms. Just do not read this page as the reason three words survived.

② The o …ă default — what a missing word sounds like

Nine times in one session, a word that would not come out arrived instead as a feminine noun in -ă: scaulă, lucră, orașă, o nume, o pașă, o țitili, o frigere, o bură, o soară. Every one of them stands where a masculine or neuter word should be.

Every article that was right sat on a word that came out clean. Every article that was wrong sat on a word that did not.

So the wrong gender is not a gender error. It is the shape your mouth makes when the word is missing. That matters for what to do about it: drilling the gender rule cannot fix a hole where a word should be — and the rule is not broken. You ran the gender gate correctly on every word you actually had.

The same default runs at the plural. Both masculine plurals asked for today came back in the feminine series: ucraineance for ucraineni, inginere for ingineri.

③ The 32 words, each with its anchor

Gender, plural and anchor are one package — they hide and reveal together. ④ The coin flip you keep losing — -e or -i

A feminine in -ă takes either -e or -i, and nothing in the sound decides it. It is one stored fact per word. Today it broke four times — ușe, țăre, lune, zili — and it was the only thing that broke on words you knew well.

Do not try to derive it. There is no rule to find. Store it with the word, the way you store the gender. The anchors above carry the ending for every word on this page.

Plural of o masă, o casă, o cameră?

mese · case · camere — all three take -e, and only the first rewrites its stem (a → e).

Plural of o floare and o limbă?

flori · limbi — both take -i. Nothing in either word announces that; it is stored.

Article for ceas, creion, calculator?

un for all three — every one is neuter. If your first instinct was o, that is the default firing, not the rule.

Plural of un pat, un ceas, un creion?

paturi · ceasuri · creioane — a neuter has two shelves, -uri and -e, and only the third one grows a diphthong.
